A Scattering Of Ashes
A scattering of ashes,
dust upon the breeze
A candle on the water
A grove of skeleton trees.
A flame upon the water,
ashes on the wind,
the silence of the morning,
gathered mourning him.
Fire on the water,
earth upon the wind -
elements combined
together honor him.
Not how it was,
but how it should have been
Soul upon the water,
bones upon the wind.
A scattering of ashes,
born away from shore
His memory remains,
forever haunting her.
